Selected for DAF26 and Shortlisted for the Inaugural Cecile Elstein Studio Art Prize
I’m delighted to share that my painting Where Tides Go High has been selected for exhibition at Didsbury Arts Festival 2026 (DAF26) and shortlisted for the inaugural Cecile Elstein Studio Art Prize.
The £250 prize has been established in honour of the late Cecile Elstein, the renowned artist, sculptor and printmaker whose work is held in collections around the world. The award celebrates her lasting contribution to the arts and recognises outstanding artistic talent across Greater Manchester.
Where Tides Go High is an abstract oil painting exploring memory, belonging, and the places that remain with us long after we leave them behind. Through colour, light and movement, the work reflects on the emotional landscapes we carry within us.
I am honoured that the painting has been selected for DAF26 and included among the shortlisted works for this inaugural award. Being recognised alongside so many talented artists is both encouraging and deeply appreciated.
The prize winner will be announced at the Visual Arts Celebration and Plein Air Exhibition at Didsbury Baptist Church on Sunday, 28 June at 7:30 pm.
I am grateful to the organisers, judges, volunteers, and everyone involved in making DAF26 possible, and I look forward to sharing the exhibition with visitors this summer.
