I recently came across something unexpected — my work, out on the streets of Manchester.
Spotted on Whitworth Street (near HOME Manchester) and Trafford Road.
I hadn’t been notified, so seeing it in place felt quietly surreal. Not in a studio, not in a gallery, but part of the city itself.
In public space, the work is encountered differently.
People walk past without planning to stop. And then, occasionally, someone does.
A brief pause. A second look.
No explanation, no context — just a moment between the work and the viewer.
That shift changes everything.
It no longer belongs only to the studio.
It becomes part of everyday life.
And for a moment, it holds its place there.
